Melissa Evans-Lee, Marketing Director at Bayview Village, appeared on Canada AM this week to share some helpful advice on how to transition your warm weather wardrobe into a fall ready collection, while still hanging onto some summer favorites. Here are our favorite tips:
1. Invest in black opaque tights and black booties – these are great staples to have in your wardrobe. Throwing on a pair of black tights under your favorite pair of summer shorts (such as these leather ones from Judith & Charles, pictured below) instantly transitions your look into fall. And black booties go with… everything!
2. Layer, Layer, Layer - take a summer dress and layer it with a fur vest, leather jacket (like the one below from MO851), boyfriend blazer or cardigan. For an unexpected look, create the illusion of separates by layering a great chunky knit sweater over a sleeveless or collared dress.
3. Use Scarves to add a pop of color – Scarves are one of the easiest ways to transition your wardrobe into fall. They can instantly add visual interest to an outfit, through a great pattern, texture or pop of color. They also keep you warm on those crisp fall days. 4. Don’t be afraid of white! - Forget the old adage of not wearing white after Labor Day; winter whites have been popping up everywhere, even in recent designer collections.
